St. Paul College of Parañaque Debate Team emerged as CHAMPION in the Inter-Scholastic Debate Society Online Tournament last February 5, 2022.
The tournament was participated in by 8 teams from 5 participating schools in NCR. Originally, SPCP had 2 teams and were unified for a dauntless final round against FBJS, a team composed of combined schools of Fort Bonifacio High School and Juan Sumulong High School.
The SPCP Debate Team was composed of 6 Speakers and 8 Scribes who are High School Students from different grade levels. Kiara Mikaela Tan, Amara Vivien Nodalo, Mary Raizel Villareal, Cyan Torralba, Ralph Gabriel Del Rosario, and Dorothy Dea Faith Robles were the Speakers while Azhel May Alduheza, Mary Kirstie Santos, Sophia Marie De Vera, Alessandra Jeanne Salamanca, Jhon Philip Burgos, Elijah John Lozano, Aubrey Chelsy Maunahan and Timothy Zechariah Ibuna were the scribes.HA

The training lasted for a month with Ms. Pauline Andrea Mendoza (alumna and a Debate Champion in 2018), Mrs. Marie Sol Reyes and Mr. John Edward Cabling as debate coaches.
“It was a relatively short time to train first-time debaters since majority of our 2018 debaters already graduated. Apart from the potentials and skills we believe our students have, we also had to exert communal effort so our debaters will beat the odds. We thank the Lord for gifting our debaters with charismatic skills and the SPCP Academic Community for the unwavering support.” Mrs. Reyes, SPCP debate coach remarked.
It is already the 3rd time that SPCP has won in the said tournament- 2000, 2018 and 2022.
